June '25 Newsletter - More and More
There is a passage at the beginning of the book of 2nd Peter that is so beautiful, so astounding, that you may find yourself reading it multiple times - just to be sure you understood it! See what you think: ”May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.” 2 Peter 1:2
The Apostle Peter is saying that I have access to MORE AND MORE grace as well as MORE AND MORE peace! Oh how I love to be a recipient of the grace and peace of God. His grace empowers me to overcome and His peace gives me emotional stability in all circumstances. Yes, sign me up for both grace and peace!
But, Peter is giving us access to MORE! If I can “add to cart” MORE grace and MORE peace, well then, yes! I believe I will! So after I add it to my cart so to speak, how do I pay for it? How can I receive this?
Thankfully, Peter lets us know.
Before I share with you how to receive this amazingly beautiful gift of more grace and more peace, can I remind you of who the Apostle Peter was when Jesus walked beside him on the earth? Peter was quick tempered, spoke too much, listened too little, abrasive at times, and was told by Jesus that the devil was using him to sidetrack the plans of God. I mean, ouch, that had to be embarrassing. But Peter was totally transformed when He received the baptism of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost (which is another lesson for another day) but here is the revelation I am wanting you to receive from God today…
Like you and I, Peter needed God’s grace. He must have had insight from the Holy Spirit that over the thousands of years that would separate him from us, we too would need access to God’s grace and peace in ABUNDANCE!
In short answer, we can have it! God has freely given it to us - We can have all the grace and peace these mortal bodies can handle! And Here is how: “May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.”
I seriously have to pause as I write this because it’s still so astounding to me! Peter is saying that the more I learn about God - His character, His nature, His love for mankind, and His personal love for me, the MORE GRACE I can receive for my life and the life of those around me. And the more I learn about His Son, Jesus, and that His punishment bought me peace with God, then the MORE PEACE I can live in.
WOW, How beautiful is our God. How beautiful is the Gospel!
The Gospel is the Good News - It’s the news of God’s grace and His Son’s sacrifice. The Gospel is the message of how God’s love reached through time and saw you and wanted you in His family. He offers Grace that eliminates all our mistakes and peace that reassures us of our acceptance into His loving arms. And when we think His goodness will totally overwhelm us, He pours out MORE and MORE and MORE!
Be blessed today friends! You have a Father who calls you His dearly loved child. His wants to pour more grace on you, on your family, on your business, on your community. His peace is over you and in you. Ask Him for more of it! He’s good and His goodness and His mercy will follow you all the days of your life. Lift up your head! Rejoice! Your Father God is for you, not against you! Get to know Him better and as you do, He has promised that there will be no limit to His grace and peace over your life!
