As we draw near to the day we commemorate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rising from the dead, there is a growing anticipation of Resurrection Power! Even this week, as Steven and I prepare for Palm Sunday services, our hearts are already fixed on Easter Sunday. As disciples of Jesus, we are called to live with the reality of the Resurrection always at the forefront of our lives.

When Jesus rose from the dead, His resurrection declared VICTORY—victory over the curse of sin, victory over every demonic principality, victory over sickness and disease, victory over lack and poverty—absolute, complete victory. He left nothing undone. His blood fully atoned for everything the curse brought into our existence.

The great boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., with his 50–0 record, earned around $250 million in a single fight in 2017. He was a conqueror in the ring. But after the fight, when he handed that check to his wife, he literally handed his victory to someone else. Mrs. Mayweather would then be more than a conqueror—receiving the reward of a battle she didn’t have to fight.

That’s exactly what Jesus Christ has done for us, His bride!

He conquered death, the grave, and all the forces of hell. When He rose, the curse was broken, and every work of darkness was defeated. He gave His great victory to us! And now, through Him, we are made co-heirs—seated with Him in heavenly places. There is no power of the enemy that can stand against you as you walk in the authority Jesus has already won. Every principality is under your feet.

Now that is Resurrection Power.

And the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.

This is the Good News we are called to carry into the world—the victory Christ secured on the cross and revealed through His resurrection. God is making His appeal through His body, the Church—and that includes you. As you go throughout each day, be conscious of the power that is within you: raising the dead power, healing the sick power, trampling over demons power, resurrection power!

Download a list of Resurrection Power Scriptures

The Fellowship of the Holy Spirit

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.” — 2 Corinthians 13:14

In this closing benediction, the Apostle Paul offers more than a farewell—he offers a window into the very heart of God. Within a single verse, we are invited to behold the gifts of the Trinity: grace from the Son, love from the Father, and communion from the Holy Spirit. Each is distinct, yet beautifully intertwined.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is the doorway. Through His finished work, we are forgiven, restored, and brought near. Grace is the unearned gift that rescues us from sin and welcomes us into new life. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

The love of God the Father is the source. It is from His heart that redemption was sent. Before we ever knew Him, He set His affection upon us. (Romans 5:8) His love is not fleeting or fragile—it is steadfast, initiating, and enduring.

And then there is the communion of the Holy Spirit— the ongoing fellowship of God with His people. If grace is the doorway and love is the foundation, then communion is the life we now live within that relationship. The Holy Spirit is not distant or abstract; He is present, drawing us into daily companionship with God. To have communion is to share life together, like the saints of the early church depicted in the second chapter of Acts. It is in this sacred fellowship that the truths of grace and love move from doctrine into experience. The Spirit makes real what Christ has accomplished and what the Father has purposed. He reminds, comforts, convicts, and leads—guiding us into a living relationship with the Triune God.

Too often, we stop at receiving grace and acknowledging love, yet neglect the invitation to commune. But the Christian life was never meant to be lived at a distance. We are called into nearness—into an ongoing awareness of God’s presence through His Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is not merely to be known about, but to be walked with. He invites us into a life of attentiveness, where prayer becomes dialogue, Scripture becomes living bread, and obedience becomes joyful partnership.

May we not settle for occasional moments with God when we have been offered continual fellowship.

Points for Reflection

Have I received the grace of Christ, yet neglected the daily communion offered by the Holy Spirit?

In what ways can I cultivate greater awareness of the Spirit’s presence throughout my day?

Do I view my relationship with God primarily as belief, or as ongoing fellowship?

How is the Holy Spirit inviting me today—not just to listen, but to respond?

May the grace that saved you, the love that chose you, and the fellowship that sustains you be richly experienced in your daily walk with Him.

The Kindness of Holy Conviction

Holy conviction is evidence that God is still speaking—and that He loves us too much to leave us unchanged.

“And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” John 16:8

Conviction is often misunderstood. Many believers quietly associate it with shame, heaviness, or rejection. Yet Scripture reveals something altogether different. The conviction of the Holy Spirit is not the harsh voice of condemnation, but the gentle insistence of divine love. “When He, the Spirit of truth, has come... He will glorify Me.” — John 16: 13-14.

The Spirit’s purpose on earth today is to direct all attention to Jesus, glorifying Him alone, especially His finished work of salvation on the cross. “If we don’t allow the Holy Spirit to glorify Christ alone, and direct our full attention toward Him, our relationship with the Holy Spirit will not mature.”

First, the Spirit convicts of sin—not to humiliate, but to heal. Conviction exposes what is broken so that grace may restore it. It is the Spirit’s mercy that refuses to let us grow comfortable in what harms us. When we feel that inner nudge, that holy discomfort, we are witnessing the kindness of God drawing us back to Himself.

Second, He convicts of righteousness—reminding us that Christ has secured our standing before the Father. The Spirit does not merely point out where we fall short; He lifts our eyes to the righteousness found in Jesus. Conviction, therefore, is not a dead end. It leads us to hope. It declares that holiness is not only required—it is possible through Christ.

Third, He convicts of judgment—assuring us that evil does not triumph and darkness does not win. The enemy has been judged. Sin has been defeated. The Spirit anchors our hearts in this victory so that we may live boldly and confidently in the light.

Condemnation pushes us away from God. Conviction draws us nearer. One leaves us hiding in shame; the other calls us into transformation. If you sense the Spirit convicting you, do not withdraw. Lean in. Welcome His voice. What feels like correction is often protection. What feels like exposure is often preparation. Holy conviction is evidence that God is still speaking—and that He loves us too much to leave us unchanged. May we learn not to fear His conviction, but to treasure it as proof that the Holy Spirit is at work within us, shaping us more fully into the likeness of Christ.

Scripture opens with a world unfinished and waiting:

“The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:2, NKJV).

Before light was spoken and order emerged, the Spirit of God was already present—poised to bring life where there was emptiness and beauty where there was chaos. In the New Testament, all four Gospels bear witness to a singular moment in redemptive history: at the baptism of Jesus, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form of a dove. Scripture’s choice of imagery is not coincidental. The dove has long symbolized purity, innocence, and gentleness—qualities that reflect the nature of the Holy Spirit Himself.

The first appearance of a dove in Scripture takes us back to the days of Noah. After the flood, a dove was released from the ark to search for dry land. On its first flight, the dove returned, having found no place to rest. This reflects an earlier season in God’s dealings with humanity, when the Spirit would come upon individuals temporarily for specific assignments, but did not yet dwell within them.

The second time the dove was released, it returned with an olive leaf—a sign of new life and peace. This points us forward to the earthly ministry of Jesus, who proclaimed the gospel under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, declaring restoration between God and humanity.

The third time the dove was sent out, it did not return. It had found a resting place. This moment foreshadows the promise spoken by the prophet Joel—that God would pour out His Spirit upon all flesh—a promise fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost. From that moment on, the Holy Spirit no longer merely visited God’s people; He came to dwell within them.

The story of the dove reminds us that God has always desired a dwelling place, not a temporary landing. In Christ, that desire is fulfilled. The Holy Spirit has found His rest—not in structures made by human hands, but in hearts surrendered to Jesus. Yet before anyone can truly walk in relationship with the Holy Spirit, there must first be a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. A superficial or merely religious familiarity with Jesus is insufficient.

When Christ becomes the foundation of our lives—not a figure admired from a distance, but a Savior known personally—the journey with the Holy Spirit truly begins. Our relationship with the Spirit is inseparably anchored in Christ and Christ alone. Heaven itself bears witness to this truth:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” (Revelation 5:12, NKJV).

The Holy Spirit does not descend upon human merit, but upon hearts that exalt the worthiness of Christ. Where Jesus is glorified, the Spirit gladly rests.

Closing Prayer:

Holy Spirit, we honor You as the One who brings life where there was emptiness and order where there was chaos. We thank You that Your presence rests not on our worthiness, but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Anchor our hearts firmly in Christ alone. Let the river of Your life flow freely within us, transforming us from monuments of religion into movements of grace and power. Where sin once reigned, make us holy dwelling places for Your presence. Prepare our hearts to understand Your work more fully, especially Your loving conviction that leads us into truth and freedom. We yield ourselves to You anew. In Jesus’ name, amen.

**This devotional reflects themes and biblical imagery taught by Vladimir Savchuk in “Host the Holy Ghost,” reframed for pastoral encouragement and reflection.

Once you give those doubts and concerns access into your mind, you become susceptible to an attack from the enemy. We must be actively aware of this scheme of the devil and do what Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10:5 - “We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Your mind is the place the enemy attacks. And the moment you give in to his “What If’s,” instead of fighting them with your faith in the Word of God, you will move from doubt to fear, then from fear to unbelief.

Let me give you two examples of this in Scripture:

Example 1.) Eve - The serpent (satan) asked Eve, “What if God isn’t good? What if He is holding out on you? What if you could be like God?” (I’m paraphrasing to emphasize that satan's words were aimed at mankind's identity as children and image bearers of God).

Example 2.) Jesus. Satan asked Jesus, “Are you the Son of God?” The devil went straight for Jesus’ identity too. And how did Jesus respond? The Word. Not His feelings. Not His ideas, but He spoke only what God spoke. That it the key to victory!

The enemy went for Eve’s identity and then he attempted the same strategy on Jesus. Let me give you a heads-up, he will attempt to go straight for your identity as well: “What if you really aren’t blessed?” “You won’t be healed, you will just have to learn to live with these symptoms.” “Prosperous? You! Ha, what a joke. Why would God want you to prosper?” “What if you messed up too much.“ “What if your children won’t serve God.” “Preacher, you?! You can’t preach the Word; look Oh at your past.”

He attempts to come against your identity as a child of God and His image bearer. You must hold firm to your faith and double down on your confession - IF GOD SAID IT, I BELIEVE IT. AND THAT SETTLES IT.

We must mirror Jesus. When the enemy comes with his subtle attacks against our faith, we MUST know what God says. His Word alone has the final say. Not our feelings. Not our medical report. Not social media (or any media for that matter). Not our past. Nothing, absolutely nothing supersedes the power and authority of God’s Word.

But, (yes, there is a but) here’s the lynchpin.

If the Word isn’t believed and confessed, it won’t be activated in your life. Confession is HUGE for every aspect of our life. We must confess our sins to be forgiven. We must confess Jesus as Lord to have access to a personal Savior. But confession without belief is hollow noise. Here is what I had to do and I encourage you to do the same. According to James 1, we must fully believe what God says before we can receive what God says. I found my promises in Scripture, read them, re-read them, meditated on them, and then, THEN, confessed them - because now I was convinced of them and believed they were mine!

You must believe the Word, then confess the Word:

“By His stripes I am healed.” (1 Peter 2)

“The Lord will grant me abundant prosperity.” (Deuteronomy 28)

”With a long life God will satisfy me.” (Psalm 91)

“God forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.” (Psalm 103)

There is promise after promise in Scripture and I can assure you, there is a promise for your specific situation too! Dig into God’s Word and know that is personally yours! Then hold your ground until you receive your promises!

Today, I believe we need to repent for allowing worries, fears, doubts, which are all rooted in not believing God’s Word to be true and we need to evict the enemy from our minds by renewing them with the Word of God.

“Father God, I am sorry for my doubts. I am sorry that I have questioned Your goodness and doubted Your promises. Forgive me and help me increase my faith by learning to stand on Your Word. I choose to hold Your Word above my circumstances, above the doctor’s report, about my feelings. Renew my strength today and refresh my relationship with You with a greater revelation of Your personal love for me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.”

Here’s my own personal twist to the “What If” game. What if the only thing we’d believe is the Word of God. What if we would quit listening to our friends opinions of doctrines, the news media, the world, our family, and go before God with the Bible and ask for the help of the Holy Spirit, and find the promises we need and become unmovable as we advance the Kingdom of God in our own lives, homes, our schools, our towns, our country, and our world.

That is exactly our intention! Join us as we advance God’s Kingdom on earth!

We love y'all. May God’s blessings be upon you all, dear friends.

Steven & Brooke

He went on to say that when we discover what we are passionate about, we possess the key to unlock Gods plan for our lives. While nothing immediately came to mind, I did begin a dialogue with the One who Created me, the One who formed me and asked Him, “Father God, What am I passionate about?”

I began to daily set aside time to ask Him this question, then to wait for His response. I would grab my Bible and notebook, sit on the floor and wait for His presence and voice. (Oh how He loves spending time with us!) I was wanting a quick answer so I could move forward. But God was enjoying the process of us being together and the joy I would find in discovering His heart.

Steven and I both grew up in the same church and we also attended the same Christian school. Because of the strong Biblical background, scripture memorization was a part of our childhood and now, as an adult, we are so thankful it was. Of course, we didn’t have revelation on all that we were memorizing, but as we “hid the Word in our hearts,” we can gratefully say it has stayed there.

One of the first passages I memorized in school was 1 Corinthians 13 - known as the Love Chapter. I want to briefly highlight the very last verse that says, “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (NKJ) The first observation I would like to make is that these attributes are connected to one another. Think about this, without knowing the Love of God, we can neither have faith nor hope.

Scripturally, faith is linked to hope and then, love is linked to faith. Whoa! Is your head spinning? Let’s take a step back and try to get a grip on this!

Galatians 5 says that Faith works by Love. Because when we know the depth of God’s love for us, we can have great faith because we are convinced that God is for us and He always, always wants the best for our life, our future, our health, our families, and our finances! Our faith literally has the ability to take root in the love God has for us! Ephesians 3:17 says that Christ dwells in our hearts through Faith so that we may be rooted and grounded in Love. So that is the link of Faith to Love.

Now let’s see how the Spirit links Faith and Love to Hope! Hebrews 11 says that Faith is the birthplace of the things we Hope for. “Hope” in its simplest terms is “expecting good.” Someone once told me that we all have an expectation for the future - a good expectation or a bad expectation. Good expectations are from God (that’s the birthplace of HOPE!). And Bad expectations are from the devil (that’s the birthplace of fear).

Great hope is the result of great faith.

Great faith is the result of the revelation of the Love God has for you.

Let me encourage you to dive into the depths of the love of God so that your faith can take root and grow. Don’t beat yourself up for your lack of faith or your fear of the future, but rather, ask God to reveal more fully to you the depth of His love for you as His child.

We encourage you to listen to this short YouTube video I recorded, “God’s Kind of Love.”

Faith in God’s Promises

Because I am staking my eternal life on God’s Word being True, I also must believe that His promise about my health, my finances, my relationships, and my future MUST also be true - and then, day by day, I walk out my faith and not what I’m currently experiencing.

Faith is the ability to believe something BEFORE you can see any evidence of what you’re believing for (Hebrews 11:1), however, most believers live with the motto: “I have to see it before I believe it.” God says that this type of faith is actually not faith at all Faith believes in what it CANNOT see.

One morning as I was starting my day, I began meditating on a phrase I recently heard, “Doubt attracts attack.” The Holy Spirit began using that phrase to teach me that the trajectory of my life will boil down to whether or not I believe God’s promises found in His Word.

God’s Word tells us that all who believe in Jesus and confess Him as Lord will be saved from judgment, condemnation, and be given the gift of eternal life in Heaven. By placing our faith in Jesus and His Word and confessing it over our life, we have accessed the eternal life God already provided for us through the cross of Jesus. Even though we can’t physically see the proof of this, the moment we place our faith in Jesus and what the Bible says, we have the promise of eternal life.

Since we understand the concept of receiving salvation by faith, why does there seem to be reluctancy to apply that SAME principle (Believe, Confess, Walk it out by Faith, not by sight nor experience) to other areas of our lives?

Let me think of some examples that may help us understand…

The Word says in Ephesians 1 that we are holy, faultless, and that it gave God great pleasure to adopt us into His family. God doesn’t accept us reluctantly but joyously! Then guess what, I must not doubt that, but choose to believe it, confess it, and walk by faith, believing that I am blessed, celebrated, and highly favored!

The Word also says in 1 Peter 2:24, Psalm 103, Matthew 8, and Isaiah 53 that our physical healing was paid for by Jesus with the 39 stripes he took before He hung on a cross. My faith can access this healing in the same way my faith accessed salvation.

Do I always “act” saved? No, not always, but my faith is in Jesus - His righteousness - not my works nor my behavior. Reminding myself that I am holy only because He is holy literally makes me walk out a holy lifestyle.

It is the same with walking in healing - do I always “feel” healed? No, there are times my body will try to tell me the opposite of what God’s Word says. My body will tell me, “You should be tired today.” But I fight the “Good fight of faith” that the Apostle Paul encouraged his spiritual son, Timothy to walk in.

We learn to respond with a Word that is GREATER THAN what our flesh says: “The joy of the Lord is my strength.” “I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

Your body can tell you all sorts of things - Your head hurts. Your back hurts. Your joints hurt. Your checkbook can even talk to you! You’re poor. You’ll never get out of debt. But there is a WORD that will triumph over every other word and it’s God’s Word. God has already provided for every aspect of our lives! Spiritually, Physically, and yes, financially. He didn’t leave anything unredeemed!

Got a problem? - Find a Promise!

Because I am staking my eternal life on God’s Word being True, I also must believe that His promise about my health, my finances, my relationships, and my future MUST also be true - and then, day by day, I walk out my faith and not what I’m currently experiencing.

Faith is the ability to believe something BEFORE you can see any evidence of what you’re believing for (Hebrews 11:1), however, most believers live with the motto: “I have to see it before I believe it.” God says that this type of faith is actually not faith at all! Faith believes in what it CANNOT see. -selah-

Faith believes you're saved from hell before you ever see heaven.

Faith believes you're healed when you still feel pain.

Faith believes you are blessed and highly favored while you’re still living week-to-week on your paycheck.

Faith opens doors.

Faith heals.

Faith provides.

Faith produces abundance.

Faith sees the invisible.

Faith calls things that are not as though they are.

Let me encourage you by telling you what I tell myself OFTEN: “Don’t doubt what God’s Word says.” And honestly, I don’t think it’s any believer's intention to not believe God’s Word. We probably either fall into one or the other categories: we have been taught wrong, or we haven’t been taught. The Good News: Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God! The remedy to weak faith is to simply find out what the Word of God says. Then, with childlike faith, believe it and continue to believe it until your faith is MADE sight!

Here’s my warning on Unbelief: Holy Spirit revealed to me that unbelief is a subtle form of fear. Trust me, I’ve walked in it. It’s not fun nor beneficial! And while God’s currency is Faith, the enemy’s currency is fear. Don’t go there ??‍♀️! Don’t give him a way in to your thoughts or your life through the doorway of doubt and fear. Take those thoughts captive and make them obedient to Jesus’s way of thinking. “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

?Prayer: “God I am empowered by Your Spirit to overcome all doubt, unbelief, fear, and worry. I choose to trust You and to place my hope in the authority and validity of Your Word. I will not fear anything: no man, no opinion, no sickness, no disease, no lack, no doctors report, no media report, NOTHING that contradicts Your Word! I refuse to doubt. I place my trust, my life, my faith, in You only.”

⬇️VERSES TO BUILD YOUR FAITH IN GOD AND HIS WORD

“But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, ‘Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.’” Mark 5:36

“But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.” James 1:6

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life..” Matthew 6:25

“and do not give the devil an opportunity to work.” Ephesians 4:27

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

“Do not be anxious for anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

See what you think: ”May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.” 2 Peter 1:2

The Apostle Peter is saying that I have access to MORE AND MORE grace as well as MORE AND MORE peace! Oh how I love to be a recipient of the grace and peace of God. His grace empowers me to overcome and His peace gives me emotional stability in all circumstances. Yes, sign me up for both grace and peace!

But, Peter is giving us access to MORE! If I can “add to cart” MORE grace and MORE peace, well then, yes! I believe I will! So after I add it to my cart so to speak, how do I pay for it? How can I receive this?

Thankfully, Peter lets us know.

Before I share with you how to receive this amazingly beautiful gift of more grace and more peace, can I remind you of who the Apostle Peter was when Jesus walked beside him on the earth? Peter was quick tempered, spoke too much, listened too little, abrasive at times, and was told by Jesus that the devil was using him to sidetrack the plans of God. I mean, ouch, that had to be embarrassing. But Peter was totally transformed when He received the baptism of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost (which is another lesson for another day) but here is the revelation I am wanting you to receive from God today…

Like you and I, Peter needed God’s grace. He must have had insight from the Holy Spirit that over the thousands of years that would separate him from us, we too would need access to God’s grace and peace in ABUNDANCE!

In short answer, we can have it! God has freely given it to us - We can have all the grace and peace these mortal bodies can handle! And Here is how: “May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.”

I seriously have to pause as I write this because it’s still so astounding to me! Peter is saying that the more I learn about God - His character, His nature, His love for mankind, and His personal love for me, the MORE GRACE I can receive for my life and the life of those around me. And the more I learn about His Son, Jesus, and that His punishment bought me peace with God, then the MORE PEACE I can live in.

WOW, How beautiful is our God. How beautiful is the Gospel!

The Gospel is the Good News - It’s the news of God’s grace and His Son’s sacrifice. The Gospel is the message of how God’s love reached through time and saw you and wanted you in His family. He offers Grace that eliminates all our mistakes and peace that reassures us of our acceptance into His loving arms. And when we think His goodness will totally overwhelm us, He pours out MORE and MORE and MORE!

Be blessed today friends! You have a Father who calls you His dearly loved child. His wants to pour more grace on you, on your family, on your business, on your community. His peace is over you and in you. Ask Him for more of it! He’s good and His goodness and His mercy will follow you all the days of your life. Lift up your head! Rejoice! Your Father God is for you, not against you! Get to know Him better and as you do, He has promised that there will be no limit to His grace and peace over your life!

Passages from today's devotional to meditate on:

Romans 5:8

Zephaniah 3:17

Jeremiah 31:3

Ephesians 2:8-9

Isaiah 26:3-4

There is no flaw, no sin, no mistake or failure on you! When you came to Christ, you became part of a new race: the redeemed. You’re literally, perfectly righteous and beautiful in His eyes.

Because of Jesus, we no longer can label ourselves as “sinners” or claim our righteousness as “filthy rags.” To do so is to deny the power and work of the cross of Christ in our life.

My friend, you’re free:

Free from condemnation.

Free from guilt.

Free from shame…ever again!

I hope you have your socks on tight, because this could quite possibly nock them off!
Romans 5 says that through one man, Adam, sin entered the world. One man sinned, and by doing so, the entire earth was put under a curse. Everyone born from Adam (that’s all of us) is born a sinner, with a nature to sin. So sinning isn’t what makes us a sinner, but rather, we sinned because it was our nature to sin.

Here’s where the Good News comes in!

Because of another Man’s righteousness, Jesus Christ, we were made righteous! Do you get it?!? It’s the other side of the same coin! One man’s sin made us all sinners, BUT One Man’s righteousness, makes us righteous…forever!

Before you came to Christ, it was your nature to sin. Now you are a new creation, created in righteousness! Look at these two verses:

“For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17 NLT

“For He (God) made Him ( Jesus ) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (Christ).” II Corinthians‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

He became what you were so you could become what He is! Isn’t that awesome?!? You are a son/daughter of God, perfectly righteous in His eyes…now, tomorrow, next week, next year, FOREVER! Our righteousness is a GIFT!

See, the problem most of us seem to have isn’t believing and receiving God’s gift of righteousness. Our confusion usually comes in believing that WE have to maintain this righteousness.

Religion says that OUR righteousness is up to US, and we have to behave 100% right to maintain it. Not only is that unbiblical, but if it was up to us and our behavior, our effort, our works, to determine our right standing with God, this totally negates the GIFT of righteousness, given to us by the work of the cross.

Let me give you an example:

Imagine a sinner, showing up to your church on a Sunday morning, drunk, high, or whatever. Who of us wouldn’t be willing to show that person the love and grace and mercy of God? We all would, right?

Let’s say that man decides to give his life to Christ and in a moment, the man becomes a new creation, part of the redeemed family of God. He has now become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!

He is now part of God’s family and is part of that new race!

Now, imagine the same man comes back to church the next week, drunk or high, what is our response? Is he still the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus? Or did his behavior now void God’s gift of righteousness?

Praise the Lord, this man is still the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! His behavior did not change his identity!

Just to be clear, I’m not advocating a sin habit. Romans 6 clearly says that sin will lead to death. Sin is dumb because it opens the door for the enemy in you life, but here’s the point I’m making: Our security, our righteousness is not based on what we have done or will do. Our righteousness is not based on behavior, not based on good or bad works, but our security and righteousness is based on what God has done for you.

Don’t live in condemnation.

Don’t live in guilt.

God calls you righteous!

God is Spirit and His relationship with you is based on who you are IN YOUR SPIRIT! YOUR NEW MAN is perfect, sinless, pure, holy, without fault! That’s the righteousness of Jesus Christ and that righteousness is in you!

My prayer for you is that you would stop focusing your attention on your mistakes, sin, or failures. But rather, focus on Jesus and Who He is IN you! My friend, you have been re-created! It’s not even in your new nature to sin anymore anyway. Start believing that you have been FOREVER made right with God, it will change your life! Sin will be the furtherest thing from your mind because grateful love will pour out of every area of your life!

He became what you were so you could become what He is!

People have made their minds up about me before they ever really had the chance to get to know me.

You know what? I feel like that’s exactly what people have done with God. We can make our mind up before we ever really get to know Him personally.

In my devotional book, THE WARRIOR, I share with you the story of God and His Son, Jesus. It’s a love story, full of passion and unforeseen twist, there are heroes and villains, and an ending that no one could have ever predicted. So, let me ask you: What do YOU know about God?

Most of us only know what we have either been told or just snippets we have read here and there. But wouldn’t you like to make up your own mind about God. Isn’t it only reasonable to get the facts, from His very own Word, and then, YOU decide for yourself what to believe about Him.

Interested? I mean, really, Its only a 30 day investment! What have you got to lose??

So, before we dive in this journey together to discover who God really is, I want to briefly tell you a little about myself and my story. I grew up in what is known as the “Bible Belt,” here, in the middle of North Carolina. I cannot remember a time of not knowing about God, however, I would come to find out, there was a huge difference between knowing ABOUT God and KNOWING God.

As a young child, I was told that when I died I would either go to heaven or hell. There isn’t a third option. I didn’t want to go to hell, so I asked Jesus to save me. I asked Him to come into my heart and to take me to heaven one day. I could have been labeled a “good girl” all through school and my teenage years. I never drank, cursed, or partied. I began to develop this mindset that if I did good, if I kept the golden rule of treating others the way I wanted to be treated, If I went to church and read my Bible and prayed, that God was keeping score. I assumed if I did good, I would get good. I was trying to earn God’s blessings and favor.

All of that mindset was shattered, along with my picturesque dream life as my husband and I tried to get pregnant. Month after month went by, Until it turned into year after year. Which began a painful journey of doctor visits and test and procedures. I became angry, hardened, I built walls around my heart and began to question, “Who is God,” “Does He even care about me,” and “Is He really good?”

I will share with you how my story ends, but not today, because over the next 30 days, I want you to discover for yourself the answer to those same questions I had:

Who is God?

Does He care about you?

Is He really good?

If you are looking for truth, Gods Word says you will find it. Because Truth is actually a Person. Truth is Jesus and Jesus is Truth! Jesus, God’s Son, said this, “I am the Truth.” You will never be able to separate truth from the person of Jesus. They are One in the same. So, will you allow me introduce you to the most amazing Friend you’ll ever have.

When looking at the Bible and wanting to discover who God is, it can sometimes seems a bit overwhelming, Huh? Well, The best place to start is the beginning, I mean the very beginning! The first 4 words in the first book of the Bible is, “In the beginning God...”

If you can believe the first 4 words are true, then you can certainly trust Him for the rest of it. If God WAS, then He still IS! “In the beginning God...” And deep down inside every human being, God placed a longing and yearning inside of you for Him. It’s kinda like a hole in your heart that nothing can fill...except Him.

Romans 1:19- “In reality, the truth fo God is known instinctively, for God has embedded this knowledge inside every human heart.”

Remember that little toy you may have had as a kid that had all kinds of shaped holes in it with the corresponding object (square, circle, triangle) and you had to get the shaped object to line up with the right hole for it to go in? That’s what I am talking about! There is a hole in your life, in your heart really, that only God can fill.

You were made with it. This is something I know I don’t have to convince you of, because Romans 1:19 says that you know it and feel it instinctively!

Boy, I am excited to take this journey with you and share with you who I have personally discovered God to be, but for today, Here is what I’d ask you to do:

Would you have the courage to pray this prayer:

“God, if You are real, would You speak to me. Would You show Me the truth of who You really are? I will give you a clean slate and I will come with an open heart and open mind.”

God wants you to give Him a chance and He’s inviting you to get to know Him personally.

*You have just read Day 1 of my 30 Day Devotional, THE WARRIOR. If you know of someone who is searching for truth, or may have a wrong perception of God, would you consider gifting them this book? My life was flipped upside down when I began to discover the true nature and character of God and the heart of the Gospel. In THE WARRIOR, I take the reader through the Bible to show them Who God is, His plan of redeeming all mankind, and His purpose for their lives.

This morning, I felt like I needed to share this devotional. Below is a link to purchase the devotional. If you are local to Lincolnton, NC you can pick up a copy at The Glory House.

God loves the world deeply! John says this, “Jesus did countless things that I haven’t included here. And if every one of his works were written down and described one by one, I suppose that the world itself wouldn’t have enough room to contain the books that would have to be written!” John 21:25 TPT

That’s how amazing Jesus was! That’s how kind Jesus was! That’s how powerful Jesus was; That every book in the whole world could not contain all He was and all He did. Hebrews 13:8 says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Jesus is STILL amazing, He is STILL kind, He STILL heals, He’s STILL performing miracles, and He is STILL revealing to you and me the true nature of God, because when you see Jesus, you see what God is like.

The miracle of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead escalated Jesus’ fame. John 12:11 says that “his miracle testimony was persuading many of the Jews...to believe in Jesus.” While Jesus went about performing many miracles and healing all who came to Him, He never lost His focus: “For I have come to fulfill my purpose - to offer myself to God...”

His purpose was not only to show the world the love and nature of God, but ultimately to lay His life down for you and for me. His death would take away the sins of the whole world, giving all who accepted His sacrifice, a clean slate, hope, peace, and eternal life in Heaven. A man with so much love for people, such passion to see people healed from physical, mental, and emotional pain. He came to show us the real and tangible love of God and then, give us a way back into a relationship with God.

John 12:37 says, “Even with overwhelming evidence of all the many signs and wonders that Jesus had performed in front of them, his critics still refused to believe.”

How sad.

Mr friend, you too are faced with the same decision. There’s no doubt that Jesus existed. But, you have to decide for yourself, “Was Jesus Who He claimed to be, or was He crazy?” You cannot claim Jesus was here on earth, did miraculous signs, died on a cross, and was a good man, AND AT THE SAME TIME not believe He was God’s Son, because that was His claim. You either believe Jesus is who He says He is, or you call Him a liar. You have to decide for yourseof.

Here’s the conclusion: There is 100% chance that one day life as you know it will stop. Life is so, so short and very few of us spend much time thinking about death and what happens after death. God’s Word says that there will come a day when each of us will stand before God and give an account of our lives to Him. (Romans 14:12) And here’s the reality: God will not grab a pair of scales to measure your good vs. your bad.

No, He doesn’t do that. Why? Because it doesn’t matter how “good” you think you have been or how “bad” and underserving you may feel, we all have the same condition: sin. Without Jesus, we all miss God’s standard of perfection. We all need a Savior. Mother Theresa needed a Savior just as much as Adolph Hitler needed a Savior.

When we stand before God, He will want to know one thing: Did you believe in Jesus as your Savior? The sacrifice of Jesus, given to all mankind, is the ONLY thing that will give you entrance into Heaven. Here’s the BEST news ever….All you have to do is believe in Jesus. (Acts 16:31) Believe that He loves you, that He came to rescue you, that He died for your mistakes, your failures, your sins, and believe He rose up out of the grave and lives forevermore to give you perfect righteousness (meaning that God stamps you with His approval!).

We don’t become His because we’re holy; we’re holy because we’re His! This is love! I cannot over emphasize what it cost God to have a relationship with you. He loves you so much and wants to spend eternity showing you the extent of that love. He stopped at nothing, absolutely nothing to make sure you would have a way to Him!

Will you Believe my friend? Believe that God really, really loves you. Believe He has a wonderful plan and an incredible purpose for your life. Believe that Jesus came to give you life in all its fullness. Believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior…it really is that simple, but I can assure you, this belief will completely change your life….for the best!!

This is literally, the MOST IMPORTANT DECISION you will EVER make. I’m praying for you my friend...Praying you believe.

Prayer to accept Jesus as your Savior: Father, I believe. I believe in Your Son, Jesus. I believe that He died as my substitute, on my behalf, for my sins. I confess Him as my Savior and the Lord of my life. Thank You for loving me. Because of Your great love, I choose to live the rest of my life for you. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Lots of things: old tools, miscellaneous parts, pipes, fittings, half used bottles of spray paint, lumber, even random odd and ends! You name it, he probably has it in his shop! He values things that I would quickly discard as “useless” or “not worth keeping.”

Last week, I was doing laundry while listening to worship music. One of my recent, favorite songs began playing and within seconds, I found myself kneeling in gratitude and love before my amazing Father. As I sang my heart out, I felt a tear roll down my cheek. When it did, I instantly thought of this passage from Psalm 56:8 - “You’ve stored my many tears in your bottle—not one will be lost. For they are all recorded in your book of remembrance.”

In that moment, I could envision the Father running over to me, with the “Brooke Caldwell’s jar of tears” that He’s collected and joyously catching that tear of worship. Then came two more tears down my other cheek. Three tears. Wow, three tears that represented my love, my affection , my humble gratitude for the God who rescued me from the pit of depression. The God who gave me a reason to live. This God put a new song in my mouth and He restored me, giving me hope, purpose, and joy that’s deeper than the ocean! He flipped my world upside down with His love. Those Three tears said more than any words could. They represented so much to me, but not only me...

What an honor to have those tears cherished by the God of all creation. God who made billions of stars and countless galaxies loves our tears. They’re not discarded, not counted as useless, but priceless, valuable, worth saving.

One day, we will all cry one last tear.

Scripture tells us that there will come a time when God Himself will wipe away the last tear we will ever cry. Wow, just let that sink in. God, physically touching our faces! I used to believe that it was a tear of sadness, maybe even regret of what we could have done better in life, but the more I think about it, the more my mind has changed.

What if the last tear we cry is in humble gratitude and speechless wonder as we are finally able to see God in all His glory. As we witness what Our Father has prepared for us in Heaven and to at last be able to mentally comprehend the depth of God’s love for us and His master plan of redeeming mankind, maybe tears are the only response we will have.

Face to face, looking into His eyes, He’ll smile as He watches us step into eternity. With childlike wonder, eyes wide, and mouth open, I can envision a tear rolling down our cheek and God reaching over to capture that last tear and placing it in the bottle that has our name on it. As He SEALS the lid, His eyes will glisten as He grabs our hand and says, “Welcome Home. I love you and now my precious child, you finally know how much! I can’t wait to show you the house that I have built for you. You’re going to love it!”
