What We Believe

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Caldwell Ministries based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible.  All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of the inspired Word of God, the Holy Bible.

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  He is the Creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy.  He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Jesus

God has revealed Himself to us through his Son, Jesus, who is the visible image of the invisible God.  Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and the only way to the Father is through Him.  Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment for our sin but rose victoriously on the third day, defeating death, hell, and the grave.

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead.  He is a vital part of our walk with God.  He empowers the New Testament believers with boldness and He is the Source of the Spiritual Gifts - knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory.  The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.  God filled Adam and Eve with His Spirit so that they could be in constant communion with Him.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be - One with their Creator in Spirit.  Sin caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God.  He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions.  Jesus removed the "sin-barrier" that separated us from God and His Spirit residing in us - His beloved sons and daughters.  God raised Him from the dead and now, by grace through faith, offers eternal life to all who confess Jesus as their Lord.

The Church

The Church is not only the bride of Christ, but also the visible body of Christ on earth, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The church therefore is not a building, but rather we are people who represent Jesus, Heaven's Kingdom, and God's love through the power of His Holy Spirit.
