June 2026 Good News Letter

We're so thankful to be journeying through this season with you!
Steven and I have been praying for you—our partners in ministry. We want you to know that God is going before you into this month. He has placed ministry opportunities in your path, surprises to bring you joy, and moments to encounter His presence in new and exciting ways.

Families on Fire launched on May 17th, and the past few weeks have been nothing short of groundbreaking! We have encouraged both men and women to give God the FIRST part of their day—individually, as couples, and as families—spending intentional time in God’s Word and His presence. As we do this, His blessings flow through our obedience to His Word.

Our heart is to help you and your family THRIVE, not just survive! Through topics like finances, success in the workplace, parenting, marriage, and more, Families on Fire calls us to prioritize the Word of God over cultural influence and to live out victorious Kingdom living.

You still have a few weeks left to join us Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM and become part of a community where we can learn, grow, and pursue God together.

More Than a Gift

by Robert Wallace

“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.”
— 1 Corinthians 12:4
In the life of a believer, it is easy to become captivated by the visible expressions of the Holy Spirit—gifts that can be heard, seen, or felt. Among these, speaking in tongues is often viewed as a defining mark of spiritual depth. Yet Scripture gently reminds us that while the gifts are diverse, it is the same Spirit who works through them all. The danger is not in the gift itself, but in mistaking the gift for the goal.

The Holy Spirit was never given merely to produce outward manifestations, but to cultivate inward communion. Gifts may confirm His presence, but they are not the measure of our relationship with Him. It is entirely possible to experience moments of spiritual expression while neglecting the deeper invitation to walk closely with the Spirit each day. True maturity is not revealed in what flows through us, but in how we walk with Him.

The Spirit desires more than expression—He desires fellowship. He speaks not only through extraordinary moments, but through the quiet whisper of Scripture, the steady prompting of conviction, and the gentle leading of peace. His presence is not confined to a single gift or experience, but is woven into the fabric of daily life.

When communion becomes our pursuit, the gifts find their proper place. They are no longer the destination, but the overflow. The believer who seeks intimacy with the Holy Spirit will find that transformation begins within—shaping character, renewing the mind, and deepening love for God and others. In this place of fellowship, the Spirit is not reduced to a moment, but welcomed as a constant companion. Let us not settle for glimpses of His power when we have been invited into His presence.

Points for Reflection
  • Have I placed greater value on spiritual experiences than on daily communion with the Holy Spirit?
  • In what ways is the Spirit speaking to me beyond outward manifestations?
  • Am I pursuing the gifts of the Spirit, or the Giver Himself?
  • How can I cultivate a deeper, more consistent awareness of His presence in the ordinary moments of life?
May we seek not only what the Spirit gives, but who He is—walking with Him in quiet faithfulness, where true transformation takes root.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We thank You for Your faithfulness and care over every area of our lives. We lift up our world, our nation, our state, our community, our church, and our families to You. Bring peace where there is conflict, wisdom where there is uncertainty, and unity where there is division. Guide our leaders and help them make decisions with humility, integrity, and compassion.

We pray especially for our youth and children. Protect them, draw them close to You, and raise up a generation that loves and follows You wholeheartedly. We declare Jeremiah 24:7 over them: “O God, give them a heart to know you.”

Strengthen our families and help us reflect Christ in our homes through love, patience, kindness, and truth.

Fill us with Your Spirit and help us be people who honor You in both word and action.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
