August 2026 Good News Letter

August Greetings!

August is the eighth month of the year, and throughout Scripture, the number 8 is often associated with new beginnings. As we begin this month's newsletter, Steven and I want to speak a declaration over your life:

In the mighty name of Jesus, we declare that God is doing a new thing in your life! We pray for new paths, new opportunities, new streams of provision, renewed hope, and fresh faith to believe God for all He has promised.

May this season mark the beginning of new ways of walking with the Lord, a deeper understanding of His Word, and a renewed passion to encourage your family and friends to follow Him faithfully. We pray that God will open your eyes to see His hand at work and give you the courage to step into every new beginning He has prepared for you.

As the Lord declares in Isaiah 43:19 (NIV): “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

May you perceive the new thing God is doing in your life and walk confidently into all He has for you.

With love and blessings,
Steven & Brooke

Over the past several months, Robert Wallace has faithfully walked with us through a journey of discovering and deepening our relationship with the Holy Spirit.

We learned to recognize the Holy Spirit's loving conviction, embrace deeper fellowship with Him, and understand the importance of pursuing a genuine relationship with Him. Along the way, we discovered that His gifts are the byproduct of His presence - and that true communion with the Holy Spirit produces Christlike character and empowers us to walk as Christ walked. Each month has built upon the last, revealing that the Holy Spirit's ultimate desire is to conform us to the image of Jesus through an intimate, daily walk with Him.

This months lesson...

The Beauty of Surrender

by Robert Wallace

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” — Galatians 5:22–23

In a world captivated by visible success and extraordinary experiences, it is easy to measure spiritual maturity by what others can see. We celebrate giftedness, admire eloquence, and marvel at demonstrations of God’s power. Yet the Holy Spirit is deeply concerned with a work that is often unseen—the transformation of the human heart. The greatest evidence that we are hosting the Holy Spirit is not found in our character. The Holy Spirit does far more than empower us for ministry; He shapes us into the image of Christ. As we surrender our lives to His gentle leadership, He begins a lifelong work of cultivating His fruit within us.

Love replaces selfishness.
Joy overcomes despair.
Peace quiets anxious hearts.
Patience softens our hurried spirits.
Kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control become the visible testimony of His invisible work.

This transformation cannot be manufactured through determination alone. Fruit is never produced by striving; it is the natural result of remaining connected to its source. Likewise, the fruit of the Spirit grows as we abide in Christ and yield daily to the Spirit’s leading. Surrender is not a single decision made at the altar—it is a daily invitation. Each morning presents a new opportunity to lay down our pride, our preferences, our fears, and our ambitions before the Lord. In their place, the Holy Spirit forms the heart of Jesus within us.

Though the process may be gradual, every act of obedience deepens His work and reveals more of Christ to the world around us. Perhaps the greatest miracle the Holy Spirit performs is not changing our circumstances, but changing us. May we desire not only to experience His power, but also to reflect His character. For a life surrendered to the Holy Spirit becomes a living testimony of God’s transforming grace.

Points for Reflection
  • Am I more concerned with displaying spiritual gifts than cultivating the fruit of the Spirit?
  • What area of my character is the Holy Spirit gently inviting me to surrender today?
  • Where have I been relying on my own strength instead of yielding to His transforming work?
  • If those closest to me described my life, would they recognize the fruit of the Spirit growing within me?

Thank you for being part of the Caldwell Ministries and Glory House family. We are so grateful for your prayers, partnership, and friendship.

As we look ahead, we are filled with expectation for all God is doing and all that is yet to come. May you continue to discover the fullness of Christ in you and experience His love, peace, and power every day.

With love and excitement,
Steven & Brooke Caldwell
