Resurrection Power

As we draw near to the day we commemorate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rising from the dead, there is a growing anticipation of Resurrection Power! Even this week, as Steven and I prepare for Palm Sunday services, our hearts are already fixed on Easter Sunday. As disciples of Jesus, we are called to live with the reality of the Resurrection always at the forefront of our lives.

When Jesus rose from the dead, His resurrection declared VICTORY—victory over the curse of sin, victory over every demonic principality, victory over sickness and disease, victory over lack and poverty—absolute, complete victory. He left nothing undone. His blood fully atoned for everything the curse brought into our existence.

The great boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., with his 50–0 record, earned around $250 million in a single fight in 2017. He was a conqueror in the ring. But after the fight, when he handed that check to his wife, he literally handed his victory to someone else. Mrs. Mayweather would then be more than a conqueror—receiving the reward of a battle she didn’t have to fight.

That’s exactly what Jesus Christ has done for us, His bride!

He conquered death, the grave, and all the forces of hell. When He rose, the curse was broken, and every work of darkness was defeated. He gave His great victory to us! And now, through Him, we are made co-heirs—seated with Him in heavenly places. There is no power of the enemy that can stand against you as you walk in the authority Jesus has already won. Every principality is under your feet.

Now that is Resurrection Power.

And the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.

This is the Good News we are called to carry into the world—the victory Christ secured on the cross and revealed through His resurrection. God is making His appeal through His body, the Church—and that includes you. As you go throughout each day, be conscious of the power that is within you: raising the dead power, healing the sick power, trampling over demons power, resurrection power!
